Travelling down from qld to vic car started cutting out thank god for troy and the guy. They managed to fit me in for a repair got new diesel filter for me fit it and test it in record time showed us the way to the beach and we'll be on the way tomorrow. You guys are awesome thanks again. Great workmanship good advice friendly service. Bloods worth bottling.

If you have car problems come and see these guys. Friendly and easy to speak to and will tell you ahead of time if anything new needs doing, good price and found it easy and quick to book in. A mechanics that actually tells you what’s going on with your car open and honest.

A promise that you kept and a dream you made come true. I own a 1993 Toyota Hi-lux 2.4 litre, 5 speed manual, petrol ute. Just recently this year the engine in my ute overheated, making strange noises, I quickly switched off the engine. Next morning, I checked the radiator to see if there was any water in it – it was dead empty so I filled it up and raced it down to Newcastle Motor Repairs. I met the owner of Newcastle Motor Repairs Richard Akehurst, such a helpful humble guy with an urge of generosity to satisfy his customers. In conversation with Richard, I had mentioned about how passionate I felt about keeping my ute on the road and what my options were if the motor had packed it in. His boys in the workshop checked it out and gave me the bad news. The motor had a cracked head and a blown head gasket, at 433,000 klms I had to decide either to scrap the ute or spend some money to keep it on the road. Richard suggested that he could help me out knowing how desperate I was not to scrap it. We spoke over the front counter and agreed on having the motor reconditioned with his boys refitting the engine in between other jobs that came in. I was so pleased with this outcome, I was in no rush in getting the ute back, as long as it was going to be quality work. In due course, I found out that Richard wasn’t well at all, going in out of hospital with personal health issues. Some weeks went by so I rang up to find out about how my ute was going. I spoke to one of his best mates that filled in for the day who gave me the worst news ever, that Richard had passed away that Tuesday 8-10-24. I was shocked, devastated and couldn’t believe what I had just heard. His wife Erika and his mechanics in the workshop; Cameron, Peter and Jason kept everything running under the unfortunate circumstances of the loss of Richard. A few weeks after the funeral, I got a phone call that my ute was ready to be picked up. I was so excited to go down to the workshop - Cameron showed me the engine

As a female it’s hard to find a mechanic that you trust! I called Newcastle motor repairs for some advice on my clutch and they got me in on the same day to have a quick look. They gave me all the information I needed and charged me way less than expected! The team were so friendly and professional, highly recommend!! I will definitely be a returning customer!!
